Männlichen is a mountain between Lauterbrunnen and Grindelwald, easily reached via mountain railways from either Lauterbrunnen/Wengen or Grindelwald.

This mountain is known for the Herdsman "Cow" Playground, Royal Walk crown viewpoint, Lieselotte activity trail, and Panorama trail to Kleine Scheidegg.

One of the nicest photo spots is a fenced area along the cliffs (see on map) near the Berghaus Männlichen. From there, you can see the Lauterbrunnen valley, Mürren village, Schilthorn and many other mountain peaks.

How to get there

From Lauterbrunnen, ride the mountain train to Wengen. Then ride the Wengen-Männlichen cable car to the viewpoint.

From Grindelwald, go to the Grindelwald Terminal station and ride the Grindelwald Terminal - Männlichen gondola to the viewpoint.
