This short walk loops around the Gimmelwald village, passing by cute chalets, working dairies, and beautiful alpine meadows. At one end of the loop, you'll find a popular photospot for group photos. The path is mostly a paved service road, no traffic except the occasional tractor.

A few honesty stops along the way:
Longer walk 💡 If you have a bit more time, here are a couple nice detours to add to your walk, increasing the walking time to 45-60 mins.
Schiltbach falls: When the road does a hard right to loop uphill, just walk straight ahead for 5 mins to reach the falls. Then back the way you came.
Scenic bench: This is my favorite resting spot in the village, amazing views, great for a picnic. You can follow the road higher up the mountain to the bench. Then walk down the footpath through the meadows to rejoin the main path. Adds about 30 mins to your walk.
How to get to Gimmelwald
From Mürren, you can ride the older cable car to Gimmelwald (5 mins) or walk down in 45 mins.
From Lauterbrunnen, ride a bus (or drive) to Stechelberg, Schilthornbahn. Then ride the older cable car to Gimmelwald (instead of the new one directly to Mürren.
