The Matterhorn Glacier Ride is the the world's highest aerial cableway, traveling from Trockener Steg to the Klein Matterhorn peak at 3883m. This is final part of the ride from Zermatt to the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise visitor center and viewpoint.
Open: year round • 9:10 - 16:00 (until 16:30 in summer)
Travel time: 9 mins
This cableway has 25 cabins, each with 28 seats, that travel continuously on the cable. Because of the high capacity, there are rarely long waits for this ride.
Note: Sometimes the Glacier Ride cable car is closed for maintenance. During this time, you can still get to Klein Matterhorn via the older cable car that travels the same route.
To get here, you usually start in Zermatt with the Matterhorn Express gondola to Furi, then cable car to Trockener Steg.

Crystal Ride

Alpine Crossing to Italy
From Klein Matterhorn, you can transfer to Matterhorn Glacier Ride II (more expensive ticket), which travels across to the Testa Grigia peak in Italy (3458m). This "Alpine Crossing" section was primarily built to help skiers cross between Italy and Switzerland. But some enjoy it as a summer sightseeing tour.
