The Columbia Icefield Skywalk is an architectural marvel. Its glass-floored observation platform extends over a dramatic cliff, offering a unique vantage point of the Sunwapta Valley below. The Skywalk is included in the Glacier Adventure tour, adding an extra thrill to your visit to the Columbia Icefield.

While the structure is impressive, the views from the Skywalk don’t quite live up to the hype. The Icefields Parkway is packed with similar, if not better, panoramic vistas from short hikes. The Skywalk feels less about the scenery and more about the dramatic design—making it a memorable experience. That said, we do not consider it a must-see for those already soaking in the incredible views of the Rockies.
