A lesser known location for sure, this hidden gem is close to Vogar on the Reykjanes peninsula. It was purchased by an Icelander after the war but got cut lose and ended up there. If you want to get close I'd recommend you visit during low tide, and bring some waterproof boots. This is easy to reach and is on the way to or from the airport - a perfect spot to bring your kids to too.

QUICK NOTES:

  • What it is: A WW2 landing barge that stranded near Vogar, Reykjanes.

  • Best season: Any season.

  • Best time of day: Any time of day.

  • Nice to know: If you want to go close to it, make sure you visit during low tide.
