Ytri Tunga Beach, located on the Snæfellsnes Peninsula in Iceland, is a unique spot known for its golden sand and as a prime seal-watching location. You're likely to catch a glimpse of seals lounging on rocks just offshore, especially during the summer months.

QUICK NOTES:

  • What it is: A pretty beach that's a common spot for seals to hang out at.

  • Best season: Summer (to see the seals at least).

  • Best time of day: Any.

  • Nice to know: ven though the beach itself is admission free you do have to pay for parking. Depending on where the seals are you might have to walk 5-15 minutes along the beach to get closer to them.
