The Narrows is a slot canyon located in Zion National Park, Utah. It's famous for its towering walls that rise on either side of the Virgin River, creating a breathtaking natural corridor.

Hiking here means you will wade through the river! You don't need a permit to hike the Narrows from the bottom down, and you can go as far as you like and turn back (what we did.)

You will absolutely need hiking poles! There are stores outside of the park that rent all the necessairy equipment to do this hike, like Zion Outfitter and Zion Guru. Don't be like us and turn back because you were not dressed to wade into chest deep water!

To start this hike, you need to take the park shuttle to the last stop: Temple of Sinawava. The trip takes around 45 minutes from the Visitor Center! From the stuttle stop, you will do the Riverside Walk trail until you reach the river.
