Dunnottar Castle is a stunning cliff-top castle on the east coast of Scotland.

As well as being the site we went after we got married, the castle has always been a special place for us as one of the first we visited while up here. Its location is pretty epic any time of year.

There's a car park and short path to reach the castle so it's very accessible. Should you want to visit the castle itself just check opening times etc.

Some history:

It has a rich and eventful history, having played an important role during the Wars of Scottish Independence and Jacobite Risings. Visitors marvel at the ruined remains of this impressive fortress, which consist of a 14th century tower house and 16th century palace. Infamous for being the place where the Honours of Scotland were hidden in the 17th century, Dunnottar Castle stands today as a breathtaking reminder of Scotland's turbulent past.
