Spend two weeks discovering Kruger National Park, the Panorama Route, Ballito (Durban coast), and the Drakensberg. Fly into Mbombela (Kruger Airport) and pick up the rental car, which you'll drop back there before flying to Durban Airport to save lots of driving time. Pick up another rental and drive north to the Drakensberg. Drop the car in Johannesburg to fly out. This travel route in South Africa is adventurous so expect there to be some potholes in the road and not the best infrastructure. Sometimes the itinerary includes different options which are marked as 'optional'.
