What to expect:
Ever had a train pass by 50 cm away from you, everything shaking and people cheering? This narrow alley, or 'ngõ,' offers a fascinating glimpse into the daily rhythms of local life. And it's one of the coolest things to do when you are in Hanoi!
We decided on this section of Train Street and were very happy with our choice. We arrived at noon and had plenty of space to settle in.
It's often the case that about 30 minutes before a train arrives, the place starts to fill up. After the train has passed, most visitors leave.
Tip: Order a local beer and place the beer mat on the track ans let the train run over it, so you'll have a small coin as a souvenir at the end.
Timetable of the train: 5:20am, 6am, 11:20am, 15:30 pm, 19:10pm, 19:20pm, 19:50pm, 20:30pm, 21:10pm (but it may vary)
How to get here:
Take a grab (or walk) from old quarter to: Ng. 224 Lê Duẩn.
