⛲ Magic Fountain of Montjuïc: The Free Light Show That’s Actually Worth It
Okay, usually when I hear "fountain show," I roll my eyes. But this is actually impressive. It’s huge, it’s loud, and it shoots 2,600 liters of water into the sky synchronized to everything from Queen to Disney soundtracks. It feels like a massive street party, and the best part? It’s completely free.
Status Update (2025): After being dry for ages due to the drought, the fountain officially reopened in late 2024! It’s back to its full glory, but definitely check the official schedule before you trek over there, just in case maintenance or wind cancels the show.
The Logistics:
Cost: €0 (Free!).
Times: Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights (usually 8:00 PM or 9:00 PM depending on the month).
Best Spot: Do not stand right at the bottom unless you want to get misted. The best view is from the steps of the MNAC (National Art Museum), looking down. You get the fountain, the Venetian towers, and the entire city skyline in one view.
Arrival: Get there 30 minutes early. It gets packed.
