The Tasman Glacier View Track is a must-do short hike in Aoraki / Mount Cook National Park, offering stunning views of New Zealand’s longest glacier, the Tasman Glacier. This 1.5 km return track is suitable for most fitness levels and provides a fantastic vantage point of the glacier, its terminal lake, and the surrounding mountains.

🥾 Trail Overview

  • - Distance: 1.5 km return (approximately 30–40 minutes)

  • - Difficulty: Easy to moderate

  • - Elevation Gain: Approximately 100 meters

Starting from the Blue Lakes car park, the track meanders past the Blue Lakes shelter and ascends a series of steps up the moraine wall. The effort is well worth it, as you'll be rewarded with panoramic views of the Tasman Glacier and its terminal lake. During summer, you might even spot icebergs floating in the lake. The track is well-maintained and suitable for families and casual hikers
