The Milford Sound swing isn’t marked, but it’s become one of those little photo spots people go looking for. It’s tucked just off the main foreshore walk. Follow the shoreline a couple of minutes, and you’ll see it hanging from a tree facing Mitre Peak.
The swing itself is simple, a wooden plank on rope, but the setting is what makes it. On a clear, still morning, with low tide and the mountains reflecting in the water, it’s pretty special. That said, sometimes it’s gone (washed away or removed), and sometimes it’s crowded.
Quick tips:
– Go early for calm water and softer light.
– Check the tide, low tide gives you better foreground and space.
– Be respectful, it’s not an official attraction, just a local favourite.
