Calling all divers! Tubbataha Reef, located off Palawan, in the middle of the Sulu Sea, is a protected marine sanctuary known for its rich biodiversity.

Designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it consists of two large atolls and the smaller Jessie Beazley Reef, covering a total area of 97,030 hectares.

Home to over 1,000 species of marine life, including endangered animals like sea turtles and reef sharks, Tubbataha is a unique spot (in the middle of the ocean) for diving.

There's no accommodation facilities on-site, visitors can only access the reef through liveaboard trips during the diving season from mid-March to mid-June.

If you're keen, here are some PADI-approved tour providers.
