Pennan is a charming little village hugging onto the coast along the North sea.
It boasts stunning views and a picturesque setting that feels almost like something out of a movie. The village is known for its iconic red telephone box, which has become a bit of a landmark was used in the Scottish film, Local Hero.

I would enjoy a drink in the only pub and soak up the coastal atmosphere.

The village consists of a small working harbour, and a row of cottages with white wash. The 18th century fishing village is in the shadows of the cliffs above and as you can imagine the village was not made for cars. For that reason, I would suggest parking your car in the eastern edge of the village near the community hall. Alternatively, there is a coastal walk route to the nearby village of Crovie (16km trail).
