What to expect:
Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park in East Java is home to a vast volcanic landscape, including the 10 km-wide Tengger caldera surrounded by towering cliffs. Inside it lies the otherworldly Sea of Sand, where Mount Bromo smolders alongside several other volcanic peaks. Unreal views everywhere and the fact that you walk in a big, old caldera is mindblowing. This place is just insane!!
How to get here:
Make sure you stay in Cemorolawang. We stayed in Parama Hotel which was super location-wise.
For hiking into the caldera, take the free hidden/secret entrance here: 7°55'18.6"S 112°57'48.9"E (behind hotel Cemara Indah).
Just go there and hike down and through the caldera till you come to the jeep parking lot.
Walking: 1h

Tips:
We’d seen this spot all over Instagram, and since we came on our own without booking a tour or jeep, we simply asked a driver on-site if we could snap a few photos with the colourful jeep.
You can also go with jeep, motorbike or horse. But than you have to pay the entrance-fee (255k IDR) plus your guide (link below).
Go after 10am to skip the crowds (because most of the people are there with jeep tours and left after 10am)
