What to expect:

The legendary blue flames of Ijen. Definitely a highlight on any tour of Java.

After climbing to the crater rim, you can now descend for about 30 minutes to the crater lake and the blue flames. Children are not allowed here because of the toxic gases. If you are parents, you can descend separately, one after the other. There were a lot of people here and it was quite stressful on the narrow, steep path. Keep that in mind. But it's definitely worth it.

How to get here:

We took a guided tour. Pick up from Hotel to the Starting point (1.5h), hiking up to the top (2h) and then another 30min down to the bluefire.

We start at 00:30am and return at 11:00am in our Hotel.
