We LOVE traveling to Fairbanks! It's called the Golden Heart City for a reason! While that might have come from the gold rush days, the town has this certain glowing sunny hue to it in the summer season across the mountain hilly landscape. It's quite beautiful and it's summer warmth and extreme winter cold are pretty cool to experience!
From the Chena River boat dinner tours right in town to the museum downtown to the oil pipeline to the year round festivals and events to nearby Chena Hot Springs, and more... Fairbanks is a unique stopping point full of rich history!
NOTE: we especially love the winter time for the northern lights around Fairbanks AND Chena Hot Springs AND then the summer time for the Summer Solstice events!
