The description below is for the road and general area, BUT ALSO tucked into this neighborhood area is a trailhead that goes to a popular short hike called Barbara Falls. It seems rather unassuming but you take the road to the end where there's a gate. Parking is limited, but fit your vehicle on the side of the road and take the trail past the gate. There may be no trespassing signs along the sides of the trail, but that just keeps people on the trail itself. Take the short stroll down the trail until you get to a bridge where you'll take the trail to the left. The trail then follows the stream up to the right until you reach the falls.
NOTE: as with all areas in Alaska, this is a common area for bears to be. Bear spray and general bear awareness (making noise) is recommended. Also, this hike is short and works great to see a closeby waterfall. Access in the winter is possible as well... 4x4 vehicle is recommended as the roads can be icy in the winter months.
