Lundy is a cool little island off the coast of North Devon. It's about 3 miles long and less than a mile wide, so it's pretty small. But don't let its size fool you, because Lundy has a fascinating history. It's changed hands between the British crown and various usurpers, and even had its own self-proclaimed king at one point. The island is now managed by the Landmark Trust and is a popular spot for day trips and holiday rentals. Plus, it's got some awesome wildlife (so many seals!) and beautiful scenery.

There are plenty of ferries that run from Bideford or Ilfracombe according to tides up to four days a week, end of March to end October.
