Tunnels Beaches in Ilfracombe, North Devon is a hidden gem with a twist! Originally a Victorian sea bathing resort, it features old hand carved tunnels leading to two large tidal pools and the beach. Its beauty means that it’s now a popular backdrop for weddings, but there’s nowhere better to cool down on a hot summers day.

There is an entrance fee, but it’s pretty small at £3.75 for an adult and £3 for a child. There is lots of history to read as you go, and while dogs are allowed through the tunnels, they’re not allowed on the beach.
