Blausee – Switzerland’s Enchanted Blue Lake
Blausee (887 m / 2,910 ft) is a small but magical lake hidden deep in the forest near Kandersteg in the Bernese Oberland. Famous for its crystal-clear turquoise water, Blausee feels like a fairytale – with tiny islands, wooden bridges, and legend-filled atmosphere. Despite its size, it’s one of Switzerland’s most photographed and romantic lakes.
How to Get There
By car: 45 minutes from Bern, parking available at the entrance.
By train: to Frutigen or Kandersteg, then local bus to Blausee.
The lake is inside a nature park with an entrance fee: ~12 CHF (adult).
