Pull over here and just look. The Salinas de Janubio are the largest salt flats in the Canary Islands — a geometric patchwork of pools in pink, white, and deep blue, framed by black volcanic rock and the Atlantic beyond. The colours shift depending on the salt concentration in each pool and the time of day. We stopped at the mirador for the view and it was more than enough. Come at sunset when the light turns everything golden and the whole landscape becomes almost unreal. One of those stops that takes five minutes and stays with you for days.
