Lanzarote's main tourist hub — and a solid base for your stay. Long well-equipped beach, a promenade with everything you need, and most of the island reachable in under 45 minutes. It can get crowded in peak season, but it has a relaxed energy that's hard not to like. You'll find all the shops and services you could need — we took the chance for a shopping break and a quick stop at a nail salon. The old harbour area (Varadero) is the quieter, more local end — and that's where you eat well.
