What to order

Bacalhau with chickpeas (grão) – salted cod with chickpeas, potatoes, onions, garlic, coriander and olive oil. Simple but perfectly balanced. One of our favourite dishes in Lisbon.

Why it’s here

A proper local tasca in Arroios (edge of Mouraria) serving honest, traditional Portuguese food. Short menu, big flavours, and a very local feel. This is where you come for authentic, no-frills cooking.

Tip

Go when it opens at 12 as it fills up fast, especially on weekends. Seating can be tight and service is friendly, quick and mostly in Portuguese, so be ready to point and order. This is a fantastic local experience in Lisbon.
