The Alfredo Vásquez Cobo International Airport is the perfect gateway to the Amazon Region, located in the capital city of Leticia, Colombia. This airport was initiated by former Colombian President Gustavo Rojas Pinilla in the 1950s, and has since seen investments up to $42 million US from current President Juan Manuel Santos to improve and modernize its facilities including a brand new passenger terminal, cargo terminal, control tower, parking and access roadways. With the introduction of LATAM Airlines and Avianca, the airport has seen improvements in local and international flights, as well as an 18,8% increase in airline passenger traffic from 2018 to 2019. All are welcome to the Alfredo Vásquez Cobo International Airport and the tri-border area between Brazil, Peru and Colombia.
