We spent our first night in the park at Tower Fall Campground Set near the stunning Tower Fall. A 40 minute drive from Mammoth hot spring this campground makes an excellent home base especially since it’s only about a 30-minute drive from wildlife rich Lamar Valley, one of the best places in the park to kick off your adventure.

The campground offers a range of sites for tents, vans, and RVs, with basic vault toilets on-site (just a heads up no showers here!). There’s also a handy convenience store right at the entrance where you can grab a few supplies or a much needed coffee.

And yes… there is a local bear who likes to wander near the campground, so be sure to store all your food properly and follow bear safety guidelines. Safety first! You can find and book campsites through the link below.

Costs around $22 USD for 1 night campsite.
