Nestled right next to the picturesque Hintersee, the Zauberwald – or “Magic Forest” – is a truly enchanting place. This ancient forest, shaped centuries ago by a rockslide from the surrounding mountains, is crisscrossed by crystal-clear streams, moss-covered boulders, and winding trails that seem to come straight out of a fairytale.

It’s the perfect spot for a peaceful walk or a photo session, especially in the early morning when the mist lingers between the trees. Several short, scenic paths lead along the water and through the forest, making it ideal for a gentle stroll before or after a visit to the lake. Parking is available both directly at Hintersee and along the road, making access to the Zauberwald easy and convenient.
