Obersee is only accessible by boat, which runs daily in summer from around 8 AM to 6 PM—be sure to check the schedule carefully, as missing the last boat can make returning quite expensive. From the boat dock, it’s about a 15-minute easy walk to the lake, which is framed by stunning mountains and offers a peaceful, serene atmosphere. If you have more time, you can hike along the lakeshore for about 45 minutes to an hour to reach the far end of the lake. The trail can be slippery when wet, so sure-footedness is recommended. At the far end, the Fischunkelalm welcomes visitors with tasty snacks and refreshing drinks. Don’t miss trying their fresh buttermilk and homemade breads—true delights right in the heart of nature.
