One of the most peaceful places I’ve visited in Bali. Pura Batu Kursi offers beautiful panoramic views where you can see Java Island, the west coastline, the ocean, and the mountains surrounding the area all at once. The atmosphere here feels incredibly calm, quiet, and magical, especially during sunset or even while enjoying a peaceful sunrise in the morning.
The place is easy to access and doesn’t require a difficult hike, which makes it perfect if you want to enjoy nature without too much effort.
I highly recommend coming in the late afternoon to enjoy the golden light and stay until sunset, because the view becomes even more stunning and peaceful. Morning visits are also incredibly beautiful, with fresh air and a much quieter atmosphere.
Another thing I really love about this place is how simple and authentic it feels. The entrance fee is donation only, which makes the experience feel more local and genuine.
Personally, this is the kind of place where you just want to sit quietly for a while, enjoy the wind, and appreciate how beautiful Bali can feel away from the crowds.
Season note (important for the view):
Wet season (around November – April): the landscape is usually lush and very green, making the scenery more vibrant and alive.
Dry season (around May – October): the grass and surroundings tend to look more brown and dry, but the sky is often clearer with stronger visibility of the ocean, Java Island, and mountain layers.
