If you’re looking for a quieter and more untouched side of Bali, Pulau Menjangan is honestly one of the most beautiful places you can visit, especially if you love nature, snorkeling, and peaceful landscapes away from the crowds.
Located in the northwest part of Bali inside West Bali National Park, this small island is famous for its crystal-clear water, colorful coral reefs, and calm atmosphere. Compared to the busier parts of Bali, everything here feels slower, quieter, and more peaceful.
One of my favorite things about Menjangan is how untouched it still feels. The boat ride itself already feels relaxing, especially with the mountain views and calm ocean around you. And once you arrive, the water is incredibly clear!! So perfect for snorkeling!!
The snorkeling here is definitely the main highlight. You’ll find vibrant coral reefs, colorful fish, and sometimes even sea turtles if you’re lucky. The visibility underwater is usually amazing, which makes it one of the best snorkeling spots in Bali.
I’ve also linked a snorkeling package that makes visiting Menjangan much easier, especially because the island itself is quite remote and there are no shops, restaurants, or facilities on the island. Most travelers usually visit Menjangan through a snorkeling or boat tour package, which often already includes :
Boat transfer
Snorkeling equipment
Snorkeling spots around the island
Lunch
A chance to explore the island itself
Another unique thing about Pulau Menjangan is the deer that sometimes wander freely around the island. “Menjangan” actually means deer in Indonesian, and seeing them near the beach somehow makes the island feel even more peaceful and magical.
Besides snorkeling, some people also visit the island for spiritual purposes, since there are several sacred Hindu temples and spiritual spots around the island. If you’re not planning to snorkel, you can also ask local boat operators around the area if they can take you to visit the island only.
Honestly, Pulau Menjangan feels like a completely different side of Bali. Its quieter, wilder, and deeply connected to nature. If you enjoy peaceful escapes and underwater beauty, this place is definitely worth experiencing at least once ✨
