Hveravellir is a stunning geothermal area located in the central highlands of Iceland. This incredible oasis is an incredible haven for nature-lovers with its bubbling hot springs, fascinating mud pools and colorful fumaroles. With its interesting and rich history, Hveravellir was the refuge of two courageous outlaws, Fjalla-Eyvindur and Halla, during the 18th century who cooked their food in one of the hot springs. It’s also possible to explore one of the biggest natural sheep pens in this area, Eyvindarrétt, offering fascinating insight into the lives of these outlaws. Just remember to be extra careful as the water in the various hot springs can reach extremely hot temperatures!
