Moll’s Gap is a dramatic mountain pass along the Ring of Kerry, famous for its winding road, sweeping views, and rugged landscapes carved by glacial valleys.

It’s popular because it offers one of the most scenic stretches of the drive, with panoramic vistas over the MacGillycuddy’s Reeks and the Lakes of Killarney. The name comes from a local 19th-century innkeeper, adding a dash of folklore to the scenery.

This stop is perfect for road-trippers, photographers, and outdoor lovers who want to soak up Ireland’s natural beauty without committing to a long hike.

Visiting is free and requires no tickets or reservations. Parking is available near the viewing points, and there’s a popular stop at Avoca Café and craft shop at the gap where you can grab a bite or browse local goods.

Allow 15–30 minutes for a quick stop, or longer if you want to relax and enjoy the views.
