Taiki Town Japan's No. 1 Furusato Village
Homes
Directions

This is the best countryside stay in Japan. I have sent more than 30 happy customers here. You should aim to stay here for more than 2 nights and you can enjoy a variety of experiences.

By the way, to book here it's best to go through Taiki Town Tourism Association.

They can dispatch guides and even offer pickups.

About:

When you visit 大紀町日本一のふるさと村, treat it as a small community hub where you can buy fresh, seasonal produce, pick up handmade goods, and join simple farm or craft experiences; it is best reached by car because public transport is limited, and there is usually on-site parking and basic restrooms. Expect limited English and some vendors to accept cash only, so bring yen and a translation app, plan for a half-day visit, and reserve any hands-on activities in advance if possible. Go in spring or autumn for the most comfortable weather and peak local produce, bring insect repellent in summer, and aim for weekdays or early morning on weekends if you want a quieter experience.
