Welcome to Sakuramoto-bō, a truly special place on the sacred Mount Yoshino. Founded where an emperor dreamt of a winter cherry blossom, this temple is a historic center of Shugendo mountain worship. You'll find it's a peaceful escape from the crowds, especially if you step inside to admire the beautiful halls. The temple is renowned for its cherry trees, particularly a magnificent weeping sakura that is the star of the show in spring. Be prepared for a lovely 25-minute walk up from the Yoshino Ropeway station to reach this serene spot.
