Nishiho Hut is the gateway mountain hut for hikers heading toward Nishihotakadake in the Northern Japan Alps. Located at about 2,380 meters, it’s one of the most accessible huts in the Hotaka range, reached in just over an hour from the Shinhotaka Ropeway top station. Because of its location, it’s a popular base for both casual hikers aiming for Nishiho Peak and advanced climbers tackling the ridge toward Nishihotakadake.
Accommodation: Dormitory-style bunk rooms with futons and blankets provided.
Meals: Dinner and breakfast are served in the dining hall (Japanese set meals). Bento lunches can also be ordered in advance.
Amenities: Restrooms, drying area for gear, common lounge. No showers. Water is limited, so usage is carefully managed.
