If you come to Onomichi, make sure to take the ropeway up to Senkoji.

About:

When you get to the Senkoji Ropeway base station, know it is a quick, practical way to reach Senkoji Park and the hilltop temple without climbing steep stone steps; the ride only takes a few minutes and cabins are small, so leave big bags at your accommodation. Buy a ticket at the little booth (fares are modest, cash is commonly accepted), and expect queues during cherry blossom and autumn-leaf season when wait times can stretch to 15–30 minutes. Facilities at the base are basic—think restrooms and a ticket window rather than restaurants or luggage storage—so plan accordingly, and if you have mobility needs ask staff for assistance as the ropeway is the easiest access option.
