Directions

I visited Yotsuji no Saika—a beautifully restored Taishō-era traditional house owned by the exceptionally warm and welcoming proprietor.

  • First Floor (Kura Storage Room): Stepping inside felt like entering a living treasure vault—the old kura still houses original safes and heirlooms, lending a captivating sense of history.

  • Second Floor (Tatami Guest Room): Upstairs, a serene tatami room awaits, offering sweeping mountain views. It’s the perfect spot to sit back and enjoy a leisurely afternoon with delicious tea and traditional desserts.

Open from 11am to 5pm, Yotsuji no Saika serves local specialties like hearty Okkirikomi udon alongside matcha and wagashi in a charming setting that feels both genuine and intimate. They are closed on Tuesdays and Wenesdays.
