Hygge at Clifton Bay is, without a doubt, my favourite café in New Zealand. The name couldn't be more fitting—hygge is the Danish feeling of coziness, comfort and simple happiness, and that's exactly what you'll find here. We came for my mum's birthday after watching the sunrise at Te Mata Peak and enjoyed such an incredible brunch that, after a walk along the coast towards Cape Kidnappers, we turned around and came straight back for lunch. That's probably the best compliment I can give! With beautiful ocean views, a relaxed atmosphere and food you'll be thinking about long after you leave, it's one of those places you'll want to return to again and again.
