The Federal Store is one of those cafés I keep coming back to. A friend who lives in New Plymouth recommended it to me years ago, and it's been one of my regular stops ever since. With its retro New Zealand charm and lively atmosphere, it's the perfect place to settle in for breakfast or brunch after a walk along nearby Fitzroy Beach. My favourite dish is the avocado on toast with their incredible beetroot dip—it's one I happily order again and again. If you're after something refreshing, I can also recommend the blueberry smoothie. It's easy to see why this café has become such a favourite with both locals and visitors.
