Riverton Beachhouse Restaurant is one of those places where it's easy to lose track of time. We stopped here after an incredible surf session, sharing the waves with dolphins, and it couldn't have been a better way to end the day. We kept it simple with fish and chips and a cold beer while enjoying the view, but after reading the menu I could easily have stayed for hours trying my way through it—everything sounded so good. Whether you grab a table on the deck overlooking the water or settle in by the fire during the cooler months, it's a wonderful place to relax and soak up the Southland coast.
