Axalp (1535m) is located in Bernese Oberland, overlooking Lake Brienz.

You can drive there, but the road is narrow. It might feel scary at first, but the more you drive on such roads, the more comfortable you'll become, and the more magical places you'll discover.

When you arrive in Axalp, park your car here. Alternatively, take bus 155 from Brienz. Take a chair lift up to Windegg. It costs 25 CHF for a round trip, with no discounts.

Enjoy the chair lift ride. I personally love chair lifts. Once you arrive, walk around and take in the views of Axalp and Lake Brienz. We brought some food for a picnic with a view.

TIP: When we returned to Axalp, we started our hike towards Hinterburgseeli.
