The Aare Gorge(Aareschlucht), located in Meiringen, in the Bernese Oberland, is a natural wonder formed over thousands of years by the Aare Glacier.

It is a 1.4 km long path, one way. It costs 13 CHF per person. You can also buy a combined ticket with a visit to Reichenbach Falls for 25 CHF.

There are two entrances: West and East. The West entrance is closer to Meiringen. We used the West entrance both times we visited. We walked through and then returned the same way to our car. This route takes about 1.5-2 hours.

Make sure to wear warmer clothing, as it can get chilly even in the summer.
