Mürren>>>Grütschalp hike
Here is a day trip exactly how we did it, and I highly recommend it. It is a very easy trip.
Mürren is one of my favorite places. It feels magical.
Details:
🅿️ Arrive in Lauterbrunnen and park at the train station here. We paid 9 CHF for less than 5 hours.
Follow the signs to the Mürren/Grütschalp gondola.
🚠 We took the gondola up to Grütschalp, then the train to Mürren. It cost 11.80 CHF for a single journey. It’s all connected.
☕️ First, we visited our favorite cafe, then went for a panoramic hike overlooking Mürren. I pinned the location here. It’s a bit uphill, but manageable.
🥾 Then, return to the train station and walk from Mürren to Grütschalp. Follow the signs to Grütschalp and Winteregg. Winteregg is a middle station between Mürren and Grütschalp, and it is a very easy walk.
🚠 We took the gondola from Grütschalp back to Lauterbrunnen. It costs 9.40 CHF for a single journey. The original plan was to hike back down to Lauterbrunnen, but the gondola runs until 8, so we took it instead..

6.5 km; 1 h 43 min; 137 m up; 283 m down
It was moody and the mountains were hiding, but in my opinion, it was absolutely beautiful. Even though it was Sunday, I expected it to be busy everywhere. However, only the gondola and the train were packed. We did not meet a single person on our panorama hike overlooking Mürren, and we met only two people on our walk from Mürren to Grütschalp.
We did this trip at the end of June.
