Whalebone Bay Campsite is an absolute ripper of a spot, perfect for a beachfront camping experience. You’ll love waking up to views of the ocean just a stone’s throw away, with nothing but the sound of waves to start your day. It’s in Shark Bay, and here’s the good news: you don’t need a 4WD to access it—your trusty 2WD will do the trick!

You’ll need a camping permit, which you can grab at the Shark Bay Discovery and Visitor Centre in Denham or by calling 1800 994 815. You can’t book ahead, so it’s first in, best dressed—make sure to plan accordingly if you’re heading out during peak times. Once you’ve sorted the permit, it’s all set up for you to camp.

The vibe is super chilled, with the kind of peaceful atmosphere that makes you want to stay forever. B

It’s not pet-friendly since it’s in a protected area, but it’s perfect if you’re keen to escape the crowds and connect with nature.
