The Mine at Sleaford is an absolute gem if you’re keen for a surf. It’s got this beautiful, gentle wave that works for all levels, whether you’re just getting started or looking for a cruisy session. The carpark sits right above the beach, so you can suss out the waves from your van or car before deciding to paddle out—always a bonus.

One thing to keep in mind, though, is that this area does see a few sharks. Nothing too hectic, mostly bronze whalers, but definitely something to be aware of. Locals still surf here all the time, though!

Even if you’re not surfing, it’s a stunning spot to just kick back and watch the ocean do its thing. Definitely bring a picnic or a coffee and soak in the views. Not 100% sure if it’s pet-friendly, but always best to check signage or ask a local before bringing your pup along.
