Twelve Apostles - Get here early!!

The Twelve Apostles are stunning, no doubt about it, but mate, you’ve gotta get there ridiculously early if you actually want to enjoy them. The crowds here are next level, and I haven’t been back in years because, honestly, it’s a bit overwhelming—tour buses on tour buses.

That said, if you time it right, it’s breathtaking. Sunrise is your best bet, not just for avoiding the chaos but also because the light on the limestone cliffs is next-level gorgeous. Sunset is stunning too, but way busier.

If you’re keen to escape the madness, take a short drive to Gibson Steps (where you can actually get down onto the beach) or Loch Ard Gorge, which is equally as beautiful but usually way less crowded.

Not pet-friendly (being in a national park), but definitely a must-see at least once in your life—just go early, bring patience, and maybe a coffee to survive the tour groups!
