Vlamingh Head Lighthouse is the spot to be for sunset in Exmouth – trust me, you don’t want to miss it. It’s one of those rare places where you can see both the sunrise and sunset over the ocean, which is pretty bloody special. If you’re an early bird, catch the sunrise for those soft, pastel skies, but sunset is where the magic happens. The vibe is unreal, with travellers and locals gathering to soak in the golden hour glow.

The lighthouse itself has a bit of history, too – it was built in 1912 to guide ships navigating the treacherous Ningaloo Reef.

The views are next-level, with the turquoise waters of Ningaloo stretching out in one direction and rugged red cliffs in the other. Bring your camera, because this is one of those spots that’ll have your family members following along back home double-tapping like crazy.

It’s also a fab spot for whale watching during migration season (June to November). You'll definitely spot them breaching offshore, which is always a jaw-dropper.
