Take it from me, this is the best spot in Byron - it's away from the chaos, you can park right on the beach all day for free, a heap of other travellers hang out here, there's good surf and you can just walk along the beach to town!

Belongil Beach is an absolute vibe and the kind of spot where you can roll in, park up, and feel instantly at home. The beachfront carpark is right on the surf, so you can watch the waves while you gear up for a swim or surf. Bonus? It’s all-day parking, which is practically a miracle in Byron—perfect if you’re planning to make a day of it.

This beach is super social, especially since it’s a favourite hangout for backpackers and van lifers. The carpark is often buzzing with people making coffee out of their vans, chatting, or just soaking up the Byron vibes. It’s the kind of place where you’re bound to chit chat.
