This may be an unpopular opinion, but Lorne is quickly becoming one of the most popular spots on the Great Ocean Road—almost like the Byron Bay of the area. It’s a lively place with plenty to offer, but be warned: parking can be a nightmare, especially on busy days!

That said, once you find a spot, there’s heaps to enjoy. The pub is a great place to enjoy live music and a social vibe, perfect for mingling with both locals and travellers.

For shopping, the main strip has an array of cute boutiques and stores, perfect for picking up something special. And of course, the beach is a top attraction for surfers, although it can get crowded, so be prepared for a bit of hustle and bustle.

My favourite spot is the jetty, and the surrounding carparks on the western end of Lorne are popular amongst the travellers/ van lifers.
